Adopt-The-Greenbelt

As part of the City of Boise’s Adopt-The-Greenbelt program, IBO gets our business members and community involved in creating a cleaner and brighter future for our public lands. IBO and our business members take on habitat restoration and preservation by cleaning up trash and removing noxious weeds along one of the most visited stretches of the Boise Greenbelt.

Investing time in these shared outdoor spaces builds awareness for the importance of public lands and the many benefits they have to offer.

During restoration work, our business member volunteer teams get to experience the excitement of seeing wildlife, including herons, trout, and deer.

Adopt-a-Pollinator

Outdoor education is an important part of IBO’s mission. As part of our Adopt-a-Pollinator garden project, our partners help us bring students outside in order to learn about the importance of pollinators, water quality, and access to open spaces.

Students learn about how bees collect pollen from the blossoms of trees and flowers. The program teaches them about pollinator plants and insects to understand their importance to the food supply, and to get kids learning while being outdoors.Students are connected to their parks and nearby outdoor spaces that are always available to them.

Learn Over Lunch

Idaho Business for the Outdoors believes that education is a critical part of our mission to provide a collective, non-partisan business voice in support of the investments, jobs, innovations, revenues and wellness benefits sustained through the preservation of Idaho’s outdoors and public lands.

IBO provides a free educational series for our business members called Learn Over Lunch, where they have the opportunity to engage with some of the current conversations regarding our public lands.
