Heather Parkinson Dermott, Board Member

 

Idaho native, Heather Parkinson Dermott, is a published author, entrepreneur, and co-founder and founding executive director of Idaho Business for the Outdoors. She coordinated and led IBO's Boise River: Source to Snake event in the summer of 2019, connecting businesses and communities all along the Boise River in support of fishable, swimmable and drinkable water. Prior to her work with IBO, Heather received her MFA in film production from the University of Southern California where she worked on a number of award winning short films and documentaries that screened internationally. She is also the published author of a historical fiction novel, Across Open Ground, set in the Wood River Valley of Idaho during WWI. Heather continues to work on opportunities to connect people with our public lands, outdoors and natural resources through advocacy, film and volunteer work. In her spare time, she can be found gardening, fly fishing and hiking the many trails in Idaho with her family.
